- Proposal #32
- Proposed by: birq
- Rejected by a vote of 3-4.
- If a player does not take any actions
or have any contact with The Admin for 2 weeks, that player is marked
as Inactive. An Inactive player may take no actions, can not vote or create
proposals, nor do they roll the dice and move with the other players.
At any time, an inactive player can pay $1,000 to become active again.
Inactive players may not win. If there is only one active, non-bankrupt
player left in the game, that player is designated as the winner.
- Comments: This one originally came from the Developer's Diary on the
forum. Since then I've noticed one fatal flaw with it: It doesn't really
go into, what happens to a player's property. It certaintly can't be right
that the player can keep earning money from rent without having to move
around the board and pay it.
- Proposal #33
- Proposed by: gator
- Rejected by a vote of 3-4.
- I propose that during the regular
roll of the dice another thing might happen. If the roll is an even number
and the player lands on a female square the player earns 100 DD but if
the roll is an odd number and the player lands on a female square the
player pays 100 DD to the nomic bank. And the opposite with the male squares,
if the roll is an odd number and the player lands on a male square then
the player earns 100 DD but if the roll is an even number and the player
lands on a male square the player pays 100 DD to nomic bank. If the player
lands on a square that has not been given a gender no new action is taken.
- Comments: What is this, the 2nd or 3rd proposal about giving the genders
a use? Apparently there are enough people out there who think that they
shouldn't have a use. =P
- Proposal #34
- Proposed by: gator
- Accepted by a vote of 4-3. Added as Rule 19.8.
- I propose that the nomic bank always
contains a minumum of 500 DD.
- Comments: So as per rule 19.7, if multiple people land on Nomic Bank
and pay up with the cards, then the first one to submit their request
will get the whole pot, while the others just get 500.
- Proposal #35
- Proposed by: gator
- Accepted by a vote of 5-3. Added as Rule 5.3.
- I propose that the cards can be purchased.
The silver card cost 166 DD, the gold card cost 500 DD and the Double
Double card cost 500 DD.
- Comments: So now you guys can stop submitting proposals and just buy
the cards. =P
- Proposal #36
- Proposed by: TheCasey
- Rejected by a vote of 2-5.
- any player who does not take any
actions (such as voting, making a proposal, buying property, etc) for
three consecutive turns will be removed from the game. That players land
will return to unowned status, their items will be forfeited, and their
money will be put in the Nomic Bank. If they have a status such as "IT"
which must be assigned to somebody, that status will randomly be assigned
to another player.
- Comments: One issue I have with this one is the graveness with which
the player is kicked out: 1 and a half weeks and they're totally dropped.
I think a rule like this, but with a longer period of inaction, might
work.
- Proposal #37
- Proposed by: TheCasey
- Accepted by a vote of 5-2. Added as Rule 21.
- two squares called "money making
square" will be added to the board in random spots between current
squares. Any player who lands onone of those squares will receive 10%
of the total rent paid by all players on that given turn. These squares
are not numbered, are not purchasable, and are colored green.
Eg. someone lands on a square where the rent is $100dd, then the player
who is on a money making square will receive $10dd of that amount, while
the other $90 dd will go to the owner of the square.
- Comments: So now the board is a bit uglier. I originally thought of
just making it so the MM squares would line up with numbered squares,
but then when the top row got wider it'd cause more problems, so... meh
to that.
- Proposal #38
- Proposed by: TheCasey
- Rejected by a vote of 3-4.
- no two players can be on the same
square at the same time except for jail and nomic bank. If two or more
players land on the same square, one or more players (so that only one
player remains on the square) will be randomly pushed one square left
or right (direction is also randomly determined) of that current square.
If the square a player is pushed onto is occupied (exept for the exceptional
squares), the same event will keep occuring until that player ends up
on an unoccupied or exceptional square.
In this case, only the final square that the player is pushed onto/lands
on is counted in terms of rent, purchasing land, passing go, etc.
- Comments: An issue with this one: the usage of the words "left"
and "right": If a player is on one of the edges of the board
[say, Square 11 or Square 20], and were pushed out that edge... what would
happen? Also, towards the end, the phrase: "passing go"? Haha.
- Proposal #39
- Proposed by: Igthorn
- Accepted by a vote of 6-1. Added as Rule 22.
- A new Square called the Solarium
of Deadly Delight (24)
This square may not be owned.
If a player lands on this square then s/he must roll an additional die
and take the appropriate action according to the following table:
1 - The player pays 250 DD to the bank
2 - The player gives 250 DD to a player of his/her choice
3 - If the player has a building on any square that s/he owns then that
player must choose to remove a building. If there is more than one eligible
building then the player may choose which single building to remove.
4 - The player gives IT 250 DD
5 - Three new squares are added to the board and one of them (determined
at random) is an exact copy of this square.
6 - The player becomes IT
- Comments: Some things about this whole proposal confuse me. The 1st
result, is "the bank" supposed to be Nomic Bank? I don't know
of any other bank, so... And the 5th result, does the square have the
exact name? That might become confusing. And is the (24) supposed to be
part of the square's title? I figured it was just supposed to be a specification
of what square this would become when it's added, but.. I don't know.
And for results 2 and 3, what if the player never gets back to me on which
one to remove? [You'd think I should have caught all these things before
posting the proposal...]
